Dr. John Belardo
Dr. Belardo has been in Oklahoma taking care of patients since 1992. He completed a 3 year residency at Columbia University in ophthalmology and a 1 year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Rochester, N.Y. and a combined oculoplastic (facial plastic surgery) fellowship in Texas and Michigan. He started his career in Elk City and was there through 1999. He then moved to Oklahoma City and eventually founded Advance Laser and Cataract Center in 2003.
Dr. Belardo is a specialist in vision correction. He has pioneered cataract surgery, becoming the first surgeon in Oklahoma to perform "no stitch, no patch, no short" cataract surgery, which is the standard by which cataract surgery is preformed today. He has also been a pioneer of in-office cataract and lens replacement surgery, as well as in glaucoma through minimally invasive procedures and eye lid surgery. Dr. Belardo has preformed over 40,000 vision correction and thousands of eye lid procedures. He has taught in Oklahoma and around the world and is also published in several journals and publications.
