Dr. George Goodman
Optometrist
Dr. George Goodman is a third-generation optometrist with an extensive background in refractive surgery, international research, and patient care. His career has taken him across the country and around the world, but his passion for helping people see their best has always remained at the heart of his work. Dr. Goodman began his career in private practice before co-founding Advanced Laser and Cataract Center in Oklahoma City with Dr. Belardo in 2002. In 2007, he joined TLC Laser Eye Centers in Chicago, where he focused on advanced vision correction procedures. His expertise later led him to Refocus, an international research initiative studying presbyopia. From there, he was recruited back to TLC Laser Eye Center in Denver, Colorado, where he continued to refine his skills in refractive surgery. In 2020, Dr. Goodman returned to Oklahoma to work with Eye Care Associates of South Tulsa, bringing his wealth of experience back to his home state. Throughout his career, he has remained a highly sought-after lecturer, sharing his knowledge on dry eye disease, refractive surgery, and advanced vision care at conferences across the country. He has also authored several books and articles on eye health. Dr. Goodman has maintained a strong relationship with Dr. Belardo and his team over the years, making his transition to Chickasha Vision Center a natural and exciting opportunity. Here, he combines his clinical expertise, research background, and passion for patient care to serve the Chickasha community. He loves the personal connections he builds with patients and the ability to use all facets of his knowledge daily. Dr. John Belardo
Cataract and Eyelid Surgeon
Dr. John Belardo has been restoring vision and changing lives in Oklahoma since 1992. A board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, and vision correction, Dr. Belardo is passionate about providing the highest level of care to his patients. His extensive training includes a three-year residency at Columbia University, followed by a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester. Additionally, he completed an oculoplastic (eyelid and facial plastic surgery) fellowship in Texas and Michigan, refining his skills in both functional and cosmetic eyelid procedures. Dr. Belardo has performed over 60,000 vision correction procedures, including thousands of cataract surgeries and eyelid procedures. He was the first surgeon in Oklahoma to perform "no stitch, no patch, no shot" cataract surgery, a technique that is now the standard for modern cataract surgery. His expertise also extends to minimally invasive glaucoma procedures (MIGS) and cutting-edge lens replacement surgery. Beyond the clinic, Dr. Belardo has taken his skills across the globe, participating in mission trips to Peru, Africa, and China, bringing the gift of sight to those in need. Now, Dr. Belardo is thrilled to bring his decades of experience to Chickasha Vision Center, offering advanced cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, and personalized vision care to the community. When he’s not in the operating room, you can find him spending time with his three daughters or cheering on the OKC Thunder.
